Cable knitting doesn’t have to be a pain in the neck—or the hands! In this class with Andrea Lui, PT, DPT—orthopedic physical therapist and avid knitter—you’ll learn how to keep your body comfortable while tackling your favorite cable projects.
We’ll start with a quick review of upper body ergonomics to set you up for success, then dive into practical tips and tricks for knitting cables with less strain and more ease. You’ll learn simple adjustments that can make a big difference in how your hands, shoulders, and neck feel as you knit.
Requirements/Equipment: experience with cables (this is not a how-to knit cables class), swatch started (recommend DK or worsted weight yarn, with US size 6-8 needles). Swatch chart to be provided closer to class date. Cable needle and/or DPNs in the same size as your needles
Bring a small swatch and your cable tools so you can try out new techniques in real time. Andrea will offer individual guidance and help you find what works best for your body and knitting style.
