Have you ever dreamed of knitting a circular yoke sweater that fits you just right? One where the
neckline sits perfectly, the sleeves feel just how you like them, and the shaping complements
your body? In this class, we’ll take a closer look at how circular yokes work, how they’re
constructed, and how you can make them your own.
We’ll talk about different yoke shaping options, proportions, and how to adjust them to your taste
and fit. And if you’ve always wanted to design your own sweater, this is your chance! During the
retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to begin knitting a custom circular yoke sweater, with my
guidance every step of the way.
During this class, you’ll learn:
• The structure and construction of circular yoke sweaters
• How to adapt shaping and fit to your preferences
• How to begin designing and knitting your own custom yoke sweater
Want to start your own sweater during the retreat? Please come with a blocked swatch so we can dive right in!
Swatching Guidelines:
• Use any yarn you enjoy working with
• Aim for a gauge of 20 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches (10 cm)
• DK or worsted weight yarns are recommended
• Block your swatch before measuring
• Bring enough yarn for a sweater in your size, or as much as you think you can knit during
the trip. Use the chart below as guideline for yardage estimates.
